Software Developer – Web Applications

The Role

Due to expansion, an opportunity for an experienced software engineer has arisen within 21:32’s Newport office to work on our global retail loyalty platform. As part of this patented platform we develop compelling web applications in Javascript with enjoyable user experiences. The feature set of the platform and our customer base is developing fast, so you’ll have a lot of exciting new functionality to work on. The back end is built with Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript with the rest of our stack on MySQL/MariaDB, AWS, MongoDB, React-Native, iOS and Android. There may be an opportunity to move into these areas if that interests you.

Qualifications are a ‘nice to have’ but we’re really interested in candidates with…
  • At least 5 years commercial programming experience and a strong background with Javascript, HTML, CSS and React, plus a solid understanding of using Git tools (we use Bitbucket) and unit testing.
  • Experience of developing with React UI libraries (essential)
  • Experience of developing with Typescript (beneficial)
  • A solid grasp of UI design principles and understand how to build web apps that are high performance and scalable.

Operations Manager

The Role

Due to a change in our company’s structure, an exciting role has arisen within 21:32’s Newport office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to work within the tech sector serving our internationally known clients. The successful candidate will be leading a small, but growing, agile team – there’s lots to be done and never a dull moment! The role will consist of:

Operations Management
  • Providing strong leadership to the team
  • Planning and managing the day-to-day operations and running of the projects, acting as a liaison point between the team and the CEO, our American clients, investors and all other stakeholders old and new
  • Acting as the CEO’s right hand, picking up any tasks pertinent to the business
  • Creating documentation, from sales decks to process maps and everything in-between
  • Managing the implementation of new processes and procedures, helping us to grow as business picks up.
Strategic Management
  • Managing budgets, collating financial data and making projections, working closely with our CEO and accountant to set a financial strategy for the company
  • Steer the direction of the company through discussions with partners and sales teams
  • Enticing investors and managing grants and funding applications from start to finish
  • Communicating changes throughout every level of the business in a consistent manner
  • Overseeing recruitment and HR at a high level.
